Choose what finance receives
A controller needs a journal that fits the finance process and an explanation for each figure. Engineering needs a stable receiving contract. A summary can be useful when the integration also retains a way to identify its contributing records. Agree that lookup at the same time as the journal format. Map the existing finance classifications to the supported account codes, and resolve classifications that do not fit before accepting the journal design.
The Ledger Rocket approach
Ledger Rocket provides event-to-posting processing and account-code classifications with external account-code mappings. A target-specific ERP integration can use those mappings and the identifiers retained in its chosen output. Design the receiving journal and downstream lookup together, then verify them against the actual ERP contract.
Work through these cases
- Map one ERP journal to the transaction detail that contributes to it.
- Replay an export and verify the integration’s duplicate and rejection handling.
- Send a late correction and confirm its journal date and reference to prior activity.
Discuss your flow
Bring an existing ERP journal and its supporting detail. Use them to define the smallest useful integration and its reconciliation responsibilities.
