Ledger Rocket

Buyer guide / Close readiness

What must we resolve before an overdue period can close?

Agree the period and account population, then list the missing input, unexplained differences and corrections that prevent sign-off. Assign an owner and required evidence to each item. Reconcile the resulting records with the finance system before approving the close.

Work from the decision that is blocked

A close backlog often combines several problems: a provider file is missing, a settlement difference has no agreed treatment, or a correction reached one book but not the other. Separate those cases so the next action is clear. Finance defines what evidence permits each item to close, who can accept a remaining exception and who approves the period.

The Ledger Rocket approach

Ledger Rocket’s configured accounts, explicit posting templates, balance history and reconciliation provide records for that investigation. Use the selected account and date scope to explain activity and corrections. Bring those records into your finance close process with the agreed source evidence and ERP reconciliation.

Work through these cases

  • Account for the expected source population, including missing and rejected input.
  • Resolve each difference through evidence, a correction or an explicitly approved disposition.
  • Agree the resulting balances and journals with finance, then retain the sign-off evidence.

Discuss your flow

Bring one overdue period and the open-item list that holds it up. Use the session to assign the next decision, evidence and owner for each item.
