Explain the deposit, not just the match
For a processor or acquirer, the bank deposit is the end of a longer calculation. A chargeback may refer to earlier activity; a reserve release may follow another schedule. Keeping those components tied to the merchant ID, or MID, helps operations locate the source of a discrepancy rather than assigning a net difference to the wrong merchant.
The Ledger Rocket approach
Ledger Rocket templates define event-to-posting treatment, while configured accounts distinguish the selected economic and control positions. Reconciliation compares the supplied settlement and control records. The merchant mapping, statement components and supported grouping shape are configured for the processor feed.
Work through these cases
- Trace gross activity through each deduction or release to the net settlement.
- Use a reference that appears for two merchants and verify the account mapping.
- Include a late chargeback, a reserve change and an unexplained fee.
Discuss your flow
Bring a merchant statement, its transaction detail and the corresponding bank entry. Choose a settlement with adjustments so the demonstration proves the bridge, not only a clean match.
