Make the earning event visible
A fee-policy change needs three explicit decisions: when entitlement arises, when the customer obligation changes and what a refund or waiver reverses. Those moments can differ from the later net settlement. Agree the policy with finance, then verify that the supplied events contain the necessary facts. For provider-level revenue analysis, preserve the provider mapping and agree how shared fees are attributed.
The Ledger Rocket approach
Ledger Rocket templates derive explicit postings from financial events. Configured account classifications can distinguish customer positions and revenue, while the template states the selected fee treatment. This gives finance a concrete set of entries to review against its recognition policy.
Work through these cases
- Trace a gross transaction into the customer obligation and fee entries.
- Include a refund or fee waiver and verify the resulting treatment.
- Reconcile the later net settlement to its recorded components.
Discuss your flow
Bring one fee rule, a normal transaction and a cancellation. Agree the expected postings before comparing the resulting revenue and customer balances.
